Performance
Skill is something we stress as a guild. Because of our 2 days a week raiding schedule, which is more casual than other guilds, we expect our raiders to pack a whole lot of kick ass into the times we have to raid. The capability to press buttons in a certain order, when the cooldowns come up, is something any 5 year old Korean child can do. We look for the above and beyond of that. Situational awareness, and not dying to obvious shit like Sunbeams, Black Holes, and other giant friggin' patches of fail. Players who don't hit their S-keys to move out said fail. Fast reaction skills. Classes that can be relied on to interrupt like champions and have the macros for it. Having all your important spells bound so you don't die moving your mouse to click Ice Block or Vanish or what have you. Doing all that and competitively maintaining your DPS on fights. Sounds tough? If we can do it, so can you.
That being said, no one's perfect right off the bat. We all make mistakes, and we'll be forgiving as long as you own up. Well, the first couple times at least. What I'm saying is, as long as a player is willing to learn, we'll sit down and work things out with them, and try to help them improve. That being said, you have to be the one to take initiative, watch your own performance like a hare, whether on meters or on failbot, and if it's below expectations, come to us or your fellow class members about it. If you remain silent, we assume you're being negligent. We work with our raiders because we know they have a good amount of skill and determination that can be worked with. We do not hold hands.
Preparation
For as much as we judge in-combat and encounter performance, we also emphasize hard work outside of the raid. Character-wise, you should be all up to par with epic gems and enchants. You're expected to come to raids repaired, with reagents and flasks, basic toilet training crap like that. That kind of thing we expect to be rote by now for players who know the raiding drill. What we also demand is research and knowledge of your class and upcoming boss fights. Perusing the Elitist Jerks forums for your latest stat weights, BiS, simulations, spreadsheets, and other theorycrafting. Reading up strats ahead of time and watching videos. Keeping up with MMO-Champion for the latest tidbits and game changes. You don't have to obsessively do it, we just ask that you come to raids prepared.
Attendance
Because of our lighter raiding schedule, we ask that our raiders be able to regularly make our raid days. It's only 2 days a week to schedule around, so it's really not asking too much. Of course, we're fine if you can't show due to some real life event - a family dinner, finals, some awesome My Little Pony convention - we just require you post in advance to let us know when you'll be gone, unless your spleen fell out and you had to carry it to the hospital. Disappearing off the face of the earth after joining our guild is severely frowned upon, however. In fact, we outlaw it! Take that!
Jokes aside, we're a guild that's understanding about real life priorities. That being said, we know the difference between real life and never showing up.
Per-son-nal-it-tay
So, I'd really say performance/attendance is about, oh, half the raider. The other half is personality. We want people to fit in, feel like they belong. We like people to like being in this guild and its environment. We've had enough of That Guy in our guild. You know. That Guy. People groan when he starts to speak on vent. And they make fun of him when he's not around (and check the guild list to make sure he's not around). That Guy. People who don't mesh with the general personality of this guild will only end up creating friction and then drama, and we can't be having any of that. The feng shui of this guild is very delicate. It has to be exactly right.
That means: no fighting, no spitting, no trade chat retardation, no loot whoring, no feeding the animals. We're laid back people looking for others more interested in gaming than stirring up drama.
1. Read our Guild Mission page and this page thoroughly.
First and foremost, make sure you've read about our guild and decide whether or not we're the guild you're looking for. We absolutely want
our members to feel like they fit in and belong in our guild, instead of joining and then getting frustrated by differences in goals. Next,
make sure you've read and cross-read this page and are fairly confident you can meet what we demand from our raiders.
2. Talk to one of our GMs.
Talking to Bassinyoface, Moossolini, and Wartank would be your next step. We are on at all different times of the day because of various reasons. Strike up a conversation with them. Just chill and talk for a bit. Compliment our website, kiss our asses, and all of that non-needed stuff that we appreciate. Feel free to remain honest with us.
3. Wait.
Give us some time to talk amongst the officers,
We shouldn't have any major questions to ask you most of the time. If we liked your style, we'll contact you back.
If everything goes well, we ginvite you.
